After a long hiatus, our campus event, Tag der Physik, will once again take place at the Hubland Süd campus, on the lawn behind the Central Library. The Würzburg Faculty of Physics and Astronomy warmly welcomes everyone to the Hubland Süd campus on July 13, 2024, starting at 10 a.m., with a full-day program for students, families, and the interested public.

The physics department at the University of Würzburg stands as one of the most successful faculties in Germany, boasting exceptional research projects funded by the Excellence Initiative of the Federal Government and the States, along with an engaging range of study programs.

Experience the fascination of physics through captivating presentations, a quiz show, interactive exhibits and experiments, workshops, a gaming lounge, and laboratory tours, or immerse yourself in the interactive exhibition, Touch Science.

Visit us at the Kitty Q Gaming Lounge! Kitty Q is a mobile game in which you team up with Anna, the great-granddaughter of a Nobel Prize winner, to save the cat from the box by solving over 20 puzzles rooted in mind-bending quantum phenomena! With over 500,000 downloads since its release in October 2021, the award-winning Kitty Q has been captivating Android and iOS users alike. In our cozy living-room setup, complete with deckchairs, iPads (available at the stand, deposit required), and gummy cats, youngsters and families alike can immerse themselves in this extraordinary app experience. And young ct.qmat scientists will also be there to answer questions about the crazy quantum world.

Additionally, there will be a dedicated children's area, ensuring fun for even the youngest attendees!

Food, drinks, and shade to be available.

We open our doors to all interested students, families, and alumni starting at 10 a.m. You can expect to encounter current examples from research and teaching, presented in an understandable manner by our scientists. Fun and games will be an integral part of the day!

Highlight of the day: The Physics Show by the "Physikanten" at 5 p.m. in the Max-Scheer lecture hall, featuring their new energy show, "Watt's Up."

Parking spaces for both cars and bicycles are plentiful along Theodor-Boveri-Weg. For those using public transportation, the best way to reach us is by bus lines 10 or 14 at the "Am Hubland" stop, or by lines 214 and 114 at the "Hubland/Universitätszentrum" stop, or by line 29 at the Philosophical Institute stop.
